Malaria
Malaria
Bimbola
Malaria is a life-threatening disease caused by parasites that are transmitted to people through the bites of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes (WHO key facts, 2020).

In 2018, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), the estimated number of malaria cases was about 230million worldwide, while deaths stood at over 400,000 with children below 5 years accounting for about 70% of all malaria deaths.

The good news is that malaria is preventable and curable.

The bad news is that if you have malaria, it weakens your immune system and exposes you to other diseases such as *COVID- 19. *

My advice
1. Avoid Anopheles mosquitoes bite
2. If exposed to the parasites, try to take antimalaria medications and reduce the risks of infectious diseases.
3. Eat good food (fruits and vegetables inclusive) and build your immune system.
4. Take plenty of rest, drink more water and reduce your sedentary lifestyle.
