Underlying diseases or medical conditions

The term "underlying disease" might be worrisome to some people. Well, it's described as diseases or medical conditions, which place people at risk of other infectious diseases.

Underlying diseases such as asthma, diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease, severe respiratory problems, HIV, and cancers affect your immune system. The conditions listed above increase your risks of exposure to infectious diseases, and also reduce the efficacy of medications or drugs administered for the treatment of acute illnesses such as COVID-19.

*Who is at a higher risk of these underlying conditions?*

B. Breastfeed your baby well as a lactating mother- Do not wean your baby until 6 months and continue to breastfeed alongside complementary feeding until he/she is 2 years.
C. The period of rapid growth in a child is between 6 months to 5 years; therefore, feed your child well at this critical stage of development to prevent undernutrition
